The URL field on the Add clip screen doesn't just load video URLs. You can also use it to search YouTube. Here's how to search, copy a URL, and select Paste.
From search to adding a clip
- On your list, select Add clip.
- In the URL field, enter what you're looking for (a creator's name, a stream's title, and so on).
- Select Search YouTube. The YouTube search results open in a new tab.
- Open a video and copy its URL from Share (the steps are in How to add a clip).
- Go back to the sukipp tab and select Paste. If it's a video URL, the video loads right away.
sukipp tells whether what you entered in the URL field is a URL or search terms.
| What you enter in the URL field | How it's handled |
|---|---|
Text that starts with https://, or that includes youtube.com or youtu.be |
Loaded as a video URL |
| Anything else (including an 11-character video ID on its own) | Used as search terms |
You can also paste straight into the URL field instead of selecting Paste. The video still loads.
When a video loads, "Don't set a section (full video)" is on. To add the full video, you can add it as is. It turns off automatically when you set a section, such as by entering a start or end or selecting Use current position as start.
Save words you use often as tags
If you always search with the same words, save them as tags to save typing.
- Enter words in the URL field and select Save as tag.
- Next time, just select the tag to put the words in the URL field. Select several tags to search with a combination of words.
- To delete a tag, select Edit, then select "×."
If the list you're adding to has tags, those tags appear too.
Keep adding
To add several videos to the same list, select Add and continue instead of Add and return to list. You can look for the next video without going back to the list. The URL field is cleared, and "Don't set a section" turns back on.
If something goes wrong
- Nothing appears when you select Paste: Your browser may be blocking access to the clipboard. Press and hold the URL field (Ctrl+V / ⌘+V on a computer) to paste. The video loads when you paste.
- You pasted only a video ID: An 11-character video ID on its own isn't loaded. It's used as search terms instead. Copy the video's URL.
