In April 2026, YouTube ended its Clips feature for viewers. Here are the ways you can still show someone a moment from a video, with a set start and end.
What changed
On April 17, 2026, YouTube announced that viewers can no longer create clips. Clips made before then can still be watched, but you can't make new ones.
YouTube now points viewers to "Share at timestamp", which sets where playback starts, but not where it ends, and you can't add a description. Clip creation is still available to creators in YouTube Studio. (Source: Tubefilter)
Ways you can share a moment now
| Method | Start | End | Combine several moments | What you need |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube "Share at timestamp" | Yes | No | No | YouTube only |
| Write a timestamp in a comment or post | Yes | No | Partly (as a list of text) | YouTube only |
| sukipp | Yes | Yes | Yes (play them in a row as a list) | A sukipp account to create (not needed to watch) |
If you only need to point to where a moment starts, YouTube's "Share at timestamp" is enough. If you want to set the end too, or show several moments together, you can use sukipp.
How to share a section with sukipp
- Create a list. Choose a name and its visibility (Public, Unlisted, or Private). To show it only to people who have the link, choose Unlisted.
- Paste a video URL, set the start and end, and add the clip. If the video has timestamps in its comments, you can pick a section from the suggestions.
- Share the link to your list. Anyone can play your sections in order without logging in.
When this helps
- Keep the moment your Super Chat was read on stream, as a memento
- Send a friend several moments you want them to see, all at once
- Line up your favorite songs from a singing stream and listen to them in a row
About the original videos
sukipp plays videos with YouTube's embedded player. We don't copy or store videos. You can open the original video from any clip.
