YouTube descriptions and comments often have timestamps such as "12:34 the best part." On sukipp's Add clip screen, you can gather them and use them as section suggestions.
How to use it
- On the Add clip screen, load a video.
- Select Find timestamps.
- The suggestions appear with their time, the text written with them, and where they were found (Description or Comment).
- Select the suggestion you want, and it's set as the section. Even if "Don't set a section (full video)" is on, it turns off automatically when you select a suggestion.
- Select Preview section to check it, adjust the start or end if needed, and add the clip.
The section a suggestion sets
- The start is the time of the suggestion you selected.
- The end is the time of the next timestamp. If there's no next one (it's the last suggestion), the end is 10 seconds after the start.
The timestamp may not line up exactly with where the moment begins or ends. Fix it with the −5 / −1 / +1 / +5 second buttons under Fine-tune.
Where suggestions come from
Suggestions are gathered from the description and the top 100 comments. Timestamps in comments further down don't appear.
If no suggestions appear
- You see "No timestamps found.": The video's description and comments don't have timestamps. Enter times in Start and End, or play the video and set the section with Use current position as start and Use current position as end.
- Comments are turned off for the video: Only suggestions from the description appear.
